Thermage ® Acne Scar Removal Treatments
The same treatment that clears acne also improves acne scars. The Thermage ® procedure targets water in the skin heating the skin and stimulating the production of new collagen. In clinical studies comparing the new non-ablative treatments for improving scars Thermage ® is showing the most significant clinical improvement.
Fractional Laser Resurfacing for Acne Scars
The latest in resurfacing is the concept of fractional resurfacing. We offer ProFractional and Fraxel treatment. I feel these are the two best fractional resurfacing treatments available. This novel fractional approach to laser skin treatment represents a new science and category of cosmetic skin treatments that offers patients the positive results of CO 2 and Er:YAG laser with the lunchtime elegance of a no-downtime procedure.
Sciton Laser Skin Resurfacing for Acne Scars
The most advanced Erbium:YAG (Er:YAG) laser available today for laser resurfacing. This new advance in laser resurfacing technology allows us to dramatically improve your skin with fewer risks and less down time than the older CO2 laser resurfacing technology.
TCA CROSS Acne Scar Treatments
If you have just a few deep scars we can treat them focally with the TCA CROSS method.
During such treatment, a high concentration of Trichloroacetic acid is introduced just inside the scar. The resurfacing response that occurs inside the depression stimulates collagen production that, over multiple sessions, causes the scar to rise up and close in on itself.
Dermapen Acne Scar Removal Treatments
Dermapen® acne scar treatment can provide drastic results improving the appearance of your scars. The Dermapen micro needles stimulate new collagen and elastin to be generated in your skin. Dermapen also stimulates new capillary growth which improves the blood supply to the area and helps create healthier existing skin providing a healthy foundation for your new skin. Dermapen “skin-needling” breaks up this fibrous scar tissue and stimulates the growth of new skin tissue. Current ablative and non-ablative laser treatments can damage your epidermis and evaporate the skin leading to thinner epidermis problems. Dermapen® keeps your epidermis intact while treating your scar tissue which quickens healing time and with less pain.
How many Dermapen acne scar removal treatments will you need?
The typical Dermapen scar treatment regimen will consist of 5-6 treatments.
Study: Botulinum toxin heals facial scars
ROCHESTER, Minn., Aug. 8 (UPI) – U.S. scientists say treating facial wounds during the early healing phase with botulinum toxin – BOTOX® Cosmetic – improves the later appearance of scars.
“Our findings show that botulinum toxin offers and additional tool in preventing the formation of bad scars,” said Dr Holger Gassner, lead study researcher and former Mayo Clinic ear, nose and throat surgical resident. Gassner is currently a fellow in facial plastic surgery at the University of Washington.
“It will give us the option to optimize healing of forehead wounds in the first place and possibly allow us to avoid later surgeries to improve the scar’s appearance,” Gassner said.
The researchers say BOTOX® Cosmetic is the first medication found to minimize scarring. They said an injection with botulinum toxin early after the occurrence of a wound – such as trauma from a dog bite or motor vehicle accident – paralyzes the region, creating a smooth surface in which the wound can heal. That prevents muscle movement from wrinkling the wound site, allowing for a flat surface for healing and leaving a smoother final scar.
