How does Ellacor work?
Ellacor is an innovative, FDA approved skin rejuvenation procedure the uses hollow needles to
excise thousands of dermal micro cores. As each column of skin is removed the skin quickly
realigns to close the tiny openings. The punctures increase collagen production as a natural
healing response, and the micro wounds are so small they don’t produce scars. During the
treatment, Dr Burgmeier will numb the targeted treatment areas to enhance his patient’s comfort level. The entire treatment takes between 30 and 45 minutes to complete.
How is Ellacor different from other non-surgical skin rejuvenation techniques?
Ellacor technology is unique in that it removes micro-portions of excess skin, while most other techniques use radiofrequency, laser, or ultrasound energy to induce thermal injury to the skin.
How many Ellacor treatments will I need?
During your Ellacor consultation Dr. Burgmeier determine how many treatments are ideal for you based on your unique needs. Many patients get optimal results from just 1 – 4 treatments spaced about four to six weeks apart.
Who is a good candidate for Ellacor?
Ellacor is an FDA-cleared, minimally invasive micro-coring device that helps alleviate moderate
to severe wrinkles on areas of the face. This treatment essentially works by removing thousands of very tiny pieces of excess skin to deliver the desired outcome without the need for invasive surgery. You may be a good candidate for this treatment if:
- You are an adult aged over 40 years looking to address visible signs of facial aging and skin laxity without the need for surgery
- You are in good overall health
- You have realistic expectations about the outcome of this nonsurgical treatment
It’s important to note that Ellacor is approved for Fitzpatrick skin types I-IV and thus may not be
a suitable treatment option for individuals who have darker skin tones. This treatment is also not ideal for pregnant women and individuals who have medical conditions that inhibit proper
wound healing.
